To The Scottish Rite Scholarship Foundation,

I want to begin by expressing how blessed I feel to have the privilege of attending Whitworth University. It is an incredible institution but as a family, we do pay more since it is private. The Scottish Rite scholarship is significantly lightening that load next year and we are all so very thankful for your generous financial reward.
The scholarship money will go toward my continuing studies at Whitworth which I take very seriously. I am currently on the track to becoming a very good high school history teacher! I can boast on behalf of Whitworth’s exemplary education program and their outstanding history professors. It really is such a blessing for today’s youth to have increasing access to higher education. The vast amounts of funds that the Scottish Rite Foundation is giving out to students across the state is no doubt having a huge impact on their college experience, and shaping the future of our country for the better. Thank you for your commitment to our education. May God bless you as you continue to so willingly bless others.

Sincerely,
Kelly Lunde

Dear Scottish Rite Members,

Greetings from Vancouver and the Lunde Family…. grateful recipients of your Washington State Scottish Rite Scholarship in the amount of $2500!!! More specifically, my daughter, Kelly Lunde is the proud receiver of your generous funds. However, as a single Mom, I have to let you understand the gratitude, joy and great relief I experienced upon hearing this good news last week from Welmon Smith, Area Representative for you good folks down here in Clark County. It’s as if I personally won the Lottery!

Kelly is the last of my college bound children. I have been paying for higher education going on 12 years now. It has been a stretch, for sure. My sons attended state schools and are all grown and gone. This daughter has exceeded all expectations in our family and attends Whitworth University, intent on a career in Education and maintaining a 3.9 g.p.a. Her extra curricular activities for the past several years all involve ministry or coaching or youth outreach where she uses her incredible gift of natural serving, kindness and warmth, all packaged in a strong, athletic college soccer playing body! She is a marvel, not because she’s my own, but because her personal “track record” in life shows what Focus, Discipline, and Faith can result in. At 20, Kelly has accomplished everything she has ever put in front of herself, including this scholarship.

Thank you, so much, for “seeing” the worth of Kelly, for believing in her future, and for helping her to achieve it with your incredible monetary Gift. This mother will never stop singing your praises. Blessing to each and every last one of you. You really have NO IDEA what a help this is.

Gratefully and Warmly,
Marilyn Lunde
