How to Be a Good Poker Dealer

Poker

The highest possible hand in Poker is a five-of-a-kind (or “five-of-a-kind”), consisting of two pairs of cards. Any higher-ranked hand beats the lower-ranked one. In a tie, the high card outside of the pair breaks the tie. The next highest-ranking hand is a flush, a set of four cards of the same suit. All other hands tie if their high cards are higher than the low-ranking ones.

In Poker, players can have as many as eight players, although six to eight is the ideal number. Each round of poker has a dealer, who is responsible for shuffling the deck and dealing out the cards to the players. A dealer can be a player or a non-player, and players take turns being the dealer. The dealer chip is passed from player to player, and certain betting rules depend on where the dealer is located. If you’re the dealer, here are some useful tips to help you get started:

The player to the left of the big blind is the first to act. He can either check his bet or raise it to the amount of his or her ante. After the deal phase, the players reveal their cards in a clockwise fashion around the table. The player who starts this process is called the small blind, and it’s important to note that he or she acts first in every round. This is because they are the ones who are most likely to make the best hand.
